After just three songs at Wonder Bar in Ashbury, New Jersey, Joe Grushecky welcomed the the Bossman himself, Bruce Springsteen to the stage Saturday night. Springsteen played for about two hours, jamming to 15 songs including “Never Enough Time,” “Adam Raised a Cain,” “Atlantic City,” “Because the Night,” “Code of Silence” and more with his long-time friend. The set ended with Springsteen playing “Light of Day.”
Though Springsteen’s presence wasn’t announced, it was hardly unexpected; he plays a set with his buddy Grushecky almost every year at the annual Light of Day benefit concert, also in New Jersey.
Springsteen is rumored to be working on a new album, but has kept pretty quiet this year.
