The Libertines Cover The Strokes, The Clash + Perform New Song

The Libertines played a two-hour surprise show at the Blues Kitchen in north London this week, which was their smallest show in years. They played 28 songs in a venue holding 265 people, and frontman Carl Barat fulfilled his dream of crowd surfing from the stage to the bar.

The band covered hits including “Someday” by The Strokes, “Rudie Can’t Fail” by The Clash, “Tears Dry On Their Own” by Amy Winehouse, and even “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tiffany.

The Libertines also performed a new track from their upcoming album during a BBC Radio 1 session at Maida Vale studios in London, which you can listen to below:

Their new album in September will be their first release since their self-titled in 2004, which followed Up The Bracket from two years prior.
